LONELY ROAD

I didn't know anyone in the North Dakota reservation when I was working over there. I was mostly by myself. There was nothing for miles and miles, just an empty and lonely dirt road. It made me think, me searching for greener pastures - was it worth it? Being away from my family for so long. All I could do was just work because that's all there was to do. This reminded me of the times my father was away from home always working. Was I becoming like him?
